EnergyBus Workshop on CanOpen in LEVs

The EnergyBus organization held a seminar on the use of the EnergyBus protocol based on CAN Open in Taiwan. On 16th November about 70 people, most of them from R&D departments of their respective companies gathered at the Precision Machinery Research & development Center (PMC) in Taichung, Taiwan to learn about EnergyBus in Light-Electric-Vehicles.

The aim of the workshop was to introduce the EnergyBus, which protocol is based on the machine language CANopen, to a broad range of Taiwanese companies. The participants were mainly from Research & Development departments and work for companies like Kymco or China Motor as well as Sanyo.
Furthermore, most of Taiwan´s battery manufacturers took part and were particularly interested in the report on the implementation of EnergyBus in the battery of the Impuls pedelec by Mr. Dollar Chen of HiTech Energy. His boss and president of the EnergyBus organization, Dr. Mo-Hua Yang, opened the meeting by introducing the EnergyBus organization and its current progress, inviting Taiwanese companies to join.

Mr. Reiner Zitzmann of Can in Automation (CiA), the organization mainly responsible for the EnergyBus protocol, then got into detail on the different specifications and possibilities of working with CANopen. His focus was on the use and implementation of CANopen in Light-Elecric-Vehicles through the EnergyBus protocol, i.e. CiA 454.
