On November 12, 2007 a workshop on EnergyBus topics took place in Nuremberg, Germany. Industry and engineers agreed that the standard is most important for battery unit and battery charger at this moment.
At the joint CiA/EnergyBus workshop on November 12, 2007, people involved or interested in LEVs met in
Nuremberg, Germany, to talk about EnergyBus. After the presentations of Hannes Neupert (President of ExtraEnergy e. V.), Johanna Tiffe (Industrial Designer), and Holger Zeltwanger (Managing Director of CAN in Automation e. V.), the attendees discussed the political, commercial, and technical requirements.
Which LEV Components need EnergyBus first?
The attendees and company representatives see priority in developing the EnergyBus standard for the following components:
- Andreas Fuchs, Marquardt: Battery unit, battery charger, battery management
- Alexander Brincker, Hudson-Bike: Battery unit, battery charger, motor controller
- Thomas Lange, Digalog: (General hardware interfaces)*
- Gertjan van Reenen, GP Batteries: Battery unit, battery charger
- Jürgen Klüser, Vector: (Engineering and testing tool)*
- Dr. Manfred Glöckner, Dr Bernd Kukuk, Heinzmann: Battery unit, battery charger, motor controller, Motor units, HMI, utility and other handling devices, anti-theft module, sensor, remote control unit
- Andrej Westermann, EFS (Elektrofahrzeuge Service): Battery unit, battery charger, battery management, motor controller
- Matthias Kenne, Carlectra: All functional elements
- Bülenet Dönmez, IAV: (Engineering services and testing)*
- Wolfgang Sackmann, WTM: Wire, cables, plugs
- Dr. Norbert Binder, Ixxat: (Engineering and testing tool)*
- Johannes Dörndorfer, Telerob: Battery unit, battery charger, battery management, motor controller
- Mo Hua Yang, ITRI (speaking for any Taiwanese companies): Battery unit, battery charger, all other functional elements
- Daniel Hoppe, EnergyBus: Battery unit, battery charger, battery management
- Hannes Neupert, ExtraEnergy: Standard battery sizes, public charging stations
*Interested in production and cooperation
Conclusions
In the first version of the EnergyBus, the communication interfaces for battery unit, charger, and battery management will be standardized. Also motor unit and motor controller will be standardized. The final decision
on the functional elements to be standardized will be made during the next workshop in February.
